SUMMER CAMP
IS BACK AT THE Y!
There is no place like Y Camp – A home away from home where kids
laugh, learn, explore and grow in the outdoors, while creating memories
and friendships that last a life time.
We’re ready to meet all of the Responsible Restart Ohio requirements for Day Camp and incorporate the health & safety protocols we practiced in our pandemic child care center. We hope you will join us for Summer Camp!
This year’s Summer Camp is a unique partnership among the Y, Marion City Schools and the Marion Community Foundation to include Power Scholars Academy. Powers Scholars Academy is an amazing summer program that keeps students engaged in both academic activities as well as fun & active social activities. Campers will work with a Marion City School’s teacher to work through this fun grade appropriate curriculum. Of course, camp will also include our traditional outdoor fun camp activities such as Gaga Ball, water games, arts & crafts and more!
To gain the most from camp and Power Scholars Academy, we encourage children to attend all 8 weeks of Summer Day Camp. However, registration is by the week and children may attend some weeks, but not all.
YOUTH CAMP
FOR CHILDREN ENTERING 1ST GRADE THROUGH ENTERING 5TH GRADE
Our goal is to help all who attend achieve a sense of achievement and belonging while providing a range of activities to entice everyone’s interest in an atmosphere that reinforces the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Campers will spend as much time as possible outside while also enjoying the unique Power Scholars Academy curriculum.
LEADERS IN TRAINING CAMP
FOR YOUTH ENTER ENTERING 6TH GRADE THROUGH AGE 14
Leaders In Training (LIT) Camp focuses on building a sense of social responsibility in older youth through building relationships with each other and learning & practicing leadership skills. As LITs develop their leadership skills, we may give them opportunities to lead activities with younger campers (always assisted & supervised by an adult counselor). LITs will also have the chance to develop & choose their own activities. We’re working to foster growing leaders who make good choices for themselves and role model good choices to their peers.
